GTA 4 drift guide by Killatomate

Car
The car is an important factor and should feature:
-engine in front postion (more weight on front wheels = more control)
-low traction (easier drift and increased drift duration)
-RWD (helps to control the car and to reduce speed loss)
recommended cars: Banshee, SabreGT, Dukes, Sentinel, Uranus, Vigero, Stallion

Surface
Drifting is easier on slippery surface, so heavy rain is a good condition to start with.

Location
Beginners need space, so i recommend the streets around Middle Park.

Traffic
Beginners need to concentrate on their own car rather than traffic, i recommend setting traffic density to low.

Speed
Your speed should be at least 70 kph. Beginners should stay below 120 kph. high speeds require good timing with the e-brake.

How to
Approach the turn with appropriate speed. When ready, use the e-brake (handbrake) for a very short amount of time
(about 0.5 seconds) while steering into the turn. As soon as the car starts turning,
release the e-brake and start counter-steering. (If you dont release the e-brake quickly enough you will lose control over the car)
once drifting, you need to steer in the direction of your movement in order to keep control.
If you are driving a RWD car you can hit the gas to keep oversteering and also reduce loss of speed, thus extending the drift.
